Mr Mangalbhai B Patel joined the Kenya Education Department on 1st September 1950. His first posting was to Government Indian Primary School where he later acted as principal. He came to Eastleigh in February, 1952 and besides teaching English and Gujarati, he took a keen interest in the extra curricular activities of the school. His work as House Master and particularly the Librarian was indeed commendable.

Mr Patel was promoted to the rank of Education officer in January, 1963. He did whatever work he was called upon to do with the greatest pleasure and his genial and co-operative mature won him the love and respect of one and all. He has retired from Government service at the age of 55 and though he eventually wishes to retire to his native village, for the time being he plans to stay in Kenya and has at present got a teaching job in a private school. We wish Mr. and Mrs. Patel many years of health, wealth and happiness.
