Sharad Devani (1958-1961) |
I left ESS in 1961 and taking the advice of Mr Mendonca, joined PWD (MOW). In 1966, I left my employment and went into the pharmacy business. I sold the business in 1992.
I served the Lohana community of Nairobi from 1964 until 1998 in different positions within the Management Committee. I also served in the Social Service League M.P. Shah Hospital as a member of the Board of Governors for over 15 years. In 1993, I (with other partners) pioneered the setting up the commercial manufacturing of Paneer in the UK which became hugely successful. I had a very successful working life and was occupied in social work as well.
In 1998, I migrated to the UK to manage my Paneer business and have been very successful in establishing various brand names like Sangam, Shagun, Swaad, Fusion and Chefs Pasand. I am accredited with formulating and introducing Masala Paneer (spiced Paneer) and Jeera Paneer (Paneer with cumin) in the market.
I have a daughter who was only 5 when my wife passed away in 1990. I remarried in 1992.
