I was at ESS from 1965 to 1968. I occupied the last but one desk because the last desk was monopolized by Pradeep Luther and Mahendra Patel! Close friendships with them and the other 3 amigos – Shashi Aggarwal, Chitranjan Patel & Anil Lakhani continue to this day.

At ESS I represented Nile house in debates, captained the House cricket team, represented the school cricket team, participated in the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Program, Scouting and athletics relay team.

Mr. Mendonca was instrumental in perking up my interest in English literature and the art of debates. Mr. Khanna led to a healthy competition between a small group of us comparing essay marks in his class. I am grateful for inspiring teachers like them and others at ESS.

I graduated from LSE with a BSc in Economics; qualified as a CA and CPA with Deloitte in London & USA respectively. After leaving the professional practice firm, I held CFO and senior management positions in industry and am presently “semi-retired” in Denver, Colorado.

Arti & I got married on a unique date 7-7-77. We have 3 children – Reena, a graduate of Vanderbilt University and Marketing Director for Core Power Yoga; Amita, a graduate of Miami University and a physician at Mt Sinai Hospital and Rikesh, a graduate of Purdue University now with Avanade, a joint venture of Microsoft & Accenture. Our current apple of the eye and joy is our granddaughter, Kayla.
