I joined the Government College in Lahore in December 1962 and from the same institution I earned my Higher School Certificate (Division two). I secured the top most position amongst the successful candidates and won the Gold Medal for that year.
I left Pakistan in December 1969 and joined the Kenya Game Department in early 1979 as a wildlife vet. I worked in this position until I left Kenya in 1977. In 1979, the West Midlands County Council employed me. Later I joined the Birmingham local authority as a Meat Hygiene Inspector. In 1995, the meat inspection was taken over by the FSA. I now work for the government's meat hygiene service as a DMHI (Dual Meat Hygiene Inspector). It is an executive agency of the Food Standards Agency which is responsible to the Minister for DEFRA.
