| Dushyant Tanna (1975-1976) |
I attended Juja Road Primary, and after completing my C.P.E exams I was pleased to gain entry to my first place choice -Eastleigh Secondary in 1975. I was a scout at E.S.S. and have fond memories of hoisting the Kenyan flag at Friday assemblies! I attended some interesting camping trips at the Row Allan Scout Camp. I left E.S.S. in July 1976 for the U.K.
I did my ‘O’ and ‘A’ levels in Manchester before going on to read Law at the now known London Metropolitan University. Thereafter, I proceeded to study for the Solicitors’ Finals Course at the College of Law, Lancaster Gate, London. My training was with firms in Manchester and Leicester. After qualifying as a solicitor in 1988, I worked for private practices in the Midlands before starting my own firm in Leicester in May 1996 – Tanna & Co. Solicitors- from where I continue to practice.
I always wanted to give something back to the community and started by being a school governor. I am currently a Director on the Executive Board of the Lionheart Academies Trust which is responsible and accountable for running four schools - two of which are large colleges. In my spare time I like playing badminton and doing yoga.
I am married to Priti and have two children – Dhruv, who is a Tax Consultant with Deloittes and Radhika who is studying Medicine at St. Georges, London. I am looking forward to meeting some old friends from the mid- seventies at the reunion.
