I was born in Park Road, Nairobi and attended City Primary School before joining Eastleigh Secondary School in 1969.
At Eastleigh I was in Niger House and was actively involved in Sports. I did a lot of Cycling, played Football and captained the school Cricket team. Of all the activities I participated in, Cricket was my favourite and I later had the honour and privilege of representing Kenya, thanks to this early exposure.
I graduated from Eastleigh in 1972 and proceeded to India for tertiary education. In 1977, I returned to Kenya having attained an undergraduate degree in Commerce, a B.Com, from H.L. College of Commerce, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
For the first few years I worked as an apprentice Accountant/Auditor and later as a Financial Controller for a multi- national manufacturing company before venturing into my own manufacturing enterprise producing industrial and specialty detergents – a business I am involved in to this day.
I have been married to Malti, an IT Systems Analyst, for 30 years and have two sons, Purav & Kishan. Both of them currently reside in McKinney, Texas, USA.
My life, work & time are divided between Kenya & USA.
