I attended Eastleigh Primary, Juja Road Primary and finally Ainsworth Primary schools. We lived in Juja Road, Nairobi. I left for the UK in 1967. I joined the Royal Air force and stayed there from 1968 to 1973. I was then with the Herts and Beds Police Force from 1973 to 1983. I left to join the Airport Fire Service in 1983 and am currently still employed by them. I am married and we have two children, both now grown-ups and independent.
