I was the school Hockey team and House captain (Zambesi). In Hockey the team won every trophy available including the Inter school competitions. I played for Kenya Schools against the touring Indian national team 1968. The height for the school Hockey team was a game against the touring national German Hockey team at the ESS ground in 1969.

I left Eastleigh in 1969 and did my A Levels at Jamhuri High School (1970 to 1971). I captained the Jamhuri High School Hockey team. I was a prefect at both ESS and Jamhuri High and the Sportsman of the Year at Jamhuri High School in 1971. I represented the Kenya national Hockey team and was a part of the successful Kenya Team coming fourth at the World Cup in 1971.

I came to England in 1972. I achieved a BSc in Electrical Engineering (1972 to 1975). After a few years in engineering I went into my own business 1987. I now run a cosmetics manufacturing company. I am involved in investment and development of both industrial and residential premises.

We have three lovely children; two girls Bina (Optician) and Rina (Economist) and one son Inderpal (final Year at UCL studying Mathematics). I would like to thank the dedicated teachers at ESS who helped to set us up for a great future.
