Satnam Kaur Jheeta (nee Gill) (1967-1972) |
I was born in Nairobi and lived near Nairobi museum. For my primary education I attended Fort Hall Primary and Highridge Primary schools. In 1967 I joined Ngara Secondary school where mathematics and science were my favourite subjects. I was awarded a few prizes in these subjects during my time there. I was a school Prefect and a member of the Science Society.
Having obtained eight good Levels I joined Jamhuri High School in 1971 where I finished my A levels.
I then came from 'sunny' Kenya to Bradford University for a three year undergraduate course and obtained a Batchelor of Pharmacy degree in 1976. Having started in hospital, I became a Community Pharmacist and continued my career in that field for forty years. I am now semi-retired and do some locum work. I am also a member of the Sikh Union Club in Coventry which is very active in community and charity activities both locally and overseas.
I am married to Jaspal (from Jamhuri High School). We have a son who is a doctor. Our younger daughter, a pharmacist, got married earlier in the year.
