I was born in Nairobi in 1949. I attended ESS from 1963-1966 (Form IV A), Kenyatta College for ‘A’ levels, and thereafter University of Nairobi to do Medicine. I qualified with the Degree of MB ChB in 1974.
I worked in hospitals in Kenya until 1979 after which I started my own General Practice in Nairobi. I immigrated to U.K. (Leicester) in 1989 where, after some further studies and qualifications (LRCP, LRCS, LRCPS; DRCOG), I once again went into General Practice. I retired in April 2014 at the age of 65 years. I am now enjoying my retirement spending time with my grandchildren, socialising, doing charity work, travelling, reading non-medical books and enjoying golf.
I have some fond memories of ESS. Teachers like Mr. Xavier D’Souza, Mr. Hashmi, Mr. Jones, Mr Briggs and, last but not least, Mr. Shant (PE), immediately come to my mind. I played volley-ball for the school and also enjoyed playing lawn tennis. I represented Zambesi House in sports. I was also fortunate to have Mr. Jones as my headmaster once again at Kenyatta College.
I am happily married to my wife Nirmala. We have three children. My two daughters (a Dentist and an Optometrist) are both happily married. My son works in London having done International Business Studies two years ago.
I am looking forward to meeting my fellow classmates and schoolmates from ESS at the Reunion.
