I was born in Nairobi. My education was at Racecourse Primary School and later at Eastleigh Secondary School. I left for the U.K. in 1973 where I completed my B. Sc. in Building Engineering. After completing my degree, I returned to Nairobi and joined my family business in Construction.

I migrated from Kenya in January 2001 and am now settled in Southall, working as a Project Manager. At ESS, I played hockey for the First team and took part in athletics for Nile house. I am married to Warinderjit and we have two children, Harkiran and Charandeep.
